My son won a plastic dart gun at the local fair, it was actually quite cool, it shot suction darts and little rubber bullets – and it shot them pretty far. So far in fact, that most of them ended up in the neighbour’s garden! So with bullet preservation in mind I encouraged my son to shoot at targets (so we could easily retrieve the bullets). To make this a more exciting prospect than shooting his younger brother, I tried to make the targets a little unusual!

Kid’s (especially boys) love targets, you don’t even need a dart gun – you can use balls, marbles and even stones to try and knock them down. If you don’t have the time to create your own, you can download mine below. Have fun.
Includes:
1) Colour versions of artwork – just start assembling
2) Black and white versions artwork – have fun colouring them in first
3) Collectable instructions – stick them on the fridge
142 downloads so far, thanks everyone! (updated weekly)

I was excited to recently discover that Craftzine had included this project on their blog. So thank you. And if you haven’t checked out their site please do, it’s a fabulous resource for crafters.

[...] mind. I imagine playtime at this guy’s house is just awesome. You should also check out his dart gun targets and cardboard fort with escape [...]
You are BRILLIANT!!!!! Your website and arts/crafts are simple amazing. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world.
Thank you Kathy – I appreciate the comment. Scott
Thanks. My guys have plenty of toy guns and these targets will be great.
Thanks, I hope they have fun destroying them!
You are probably more gifted with wire bending than I. I do, however, have plenty of toilet paper tubes saved for projects so that is a great idea. My son colored his first one – thank you!
Hey, that’s great to hear – I’m really pleased they are being put to use! Thanks for taking the time to comment.
These are clever and awesome. Thank you so much for sharing. What did you use for the base?
Its a pleasure, thanks for the nice comment. To create the bases I used wire (bought from my local hardware store) which I then bent into little stands. Perhaps toilet roll (well, the tube inside) might make a good alternative
Well, you’re a super generous artist! My boys will love these! They are always shooting eachother and it will help my sanity to give them something else to shoot at. Thank you!
