‘What I Made’ is nearly 4 years old – and they’ve been an exciting 4 years. Amongst the highlights was winning two Webby Awards for best personal blog in 2011 (it was an even bigger thrill flying to New York to make my 5 word acceptance speech in person!).
That year I also secured my first book deal (another proud moment) and two years later Made by Dad: 67 blueprints for making cool stuff was published.
‘What I Made’ was also chosen as the San Francisco Chronicle’s site of the week and showcased in Practical Web Design (the world’s best-selling magazine for web designers).
Individual projects have appeared on Boing Boing, CraftGawker, One Pretty Thing, WhipUp and many other popular craft and DIY websites.
I was also asked by Mark Frauenfelde, the Editor-in-chief of Make: magazine and co-founder of Boing Boing, to produce a regular ‘What I Made’ column. I have also guest blogged on popular craft blogs such as Crafty Crow and been asked to produced projects for Craftzine.com.
